Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born on November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to score a of 10 for an Olympic competition. Bela Karolyi was later Romanian gymnastics coach, discovered Comaneci at just the age of six. The first time she competed at the national junior championships in 1969 and finished 13th. She was the winner in 1970. She won three golds in her debut competition, a junior pre-Olympic meet in 1972, which was a communist bloc countries. In 1973 as well as 1974, she became the junior all-around champion. At her first competition with a senior team in 1975 she bested the Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva, a five-time European champion winning four gold and one silver medals. In 1976, she won the American Cup at the New York City Olympic Games. She was the first female ever to remove the parallel bars by using double backwards salto. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her career began as an entertainment professional during her teenage years. During this time, she appeared in the figure skating duo of her cousin Nina Wayne for the travelling entertainment program Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on the 6th of September 1942 on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol began her professional career as an entertainer in her teens. Her first job was as a figure skater performing with her younger sister Nina Wayne as part of the shows that traveled around named Ice Capades. They featured ice-skating performances that were accompanied by theatrical music.
