Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou, the oldest of four children, was born on the 8th of August 1976 in Beaumont Puy-de-Domme. Her parents a dental surgeon and a teacher recognised and supported her love of theatre and drama at an early age, which was more important than a desire to be a primatologist due to her passion for monkeys. She rose to prominence as a child actress quickly and with great popularity and success. When she finished her education She was a part of the French television show that scouts talent Jeunes Premiers which was backed by Canal+. She won the award for the best young Actress prize at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors and started her career as an actress. Tautou was raised in the context of a Catholic family and attended church, even though she went to school at school at the Institut Catholique de Paris. Neben her acting, Tautou pursued modelling and was the spokesperson of L'Oreal Mont Blanc as well as Chanel. Recently, at the Arles Arts Festival she exhibited the collection of her photographs with the title Superficial. The majority of her photographs concern fame and celebrity. The exhibit also includes a collection of self portraits and also. Audrey Tautou became a star after her international fame was established with her first role in Amelie Poulain in Le Fabuleux Destination d'Amelie. Amelie received international acclai box office success and was acclaimed at awards galas across the world. Amelie is the top grossing French film on the market in US. After the film, she appeared in numerous films ranging from British dramas up to Jean Pierre Jeunet's long Sunday de Faancailles. She then moved to Hollywood and appeared alongside Tom Hanks alongside Ron Howard in The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown.
